Journey to the Clouds: Devising Choral Reading to Understand the Water Cycle

Ms Peggy Ferroa (Singapore)

Context of Discussion: Primary School (Ages 7 to 12)

Science topics present abstract concepts that young learners may not grasp.  How water changes from one state to another is one such concept. In this workshop, teaching artist Peggy Ferroa provides a first-hand opportunity for participants to create a choral reading piece that charts the different phases of the water cycle. She shares a lesson that was first presented at Mayflower Primary School in 2016, as part of NAC’s Teaching Through the Arts Programme.
