In this interactive workshop join The Song Room's program manager Elisa Williams as she takes you through a process drama experience to show you innovative ways you can help students to connect with narrative.

Learn how to immerse your students into the world of the drama, exploring whole class improvisation, performance carousel and physical theatre. Develop techniques that will put your students in charge of the narrative, solving problems and making decisions that will change the outcome. Elisa will introduce you to The Song Room’s online learning portal ARTS:LIVE with over 300 hours of teaching content including video based arts resources created by Australia’s leading educators and professional arts organisations. 

After this workshop join Elisa for a debriefing and Q and A session. This workshop will be filmed as part of a drama teaching resource for Arts:Live.

Biography

Elisa Williams is the Regional Program Manager for the Song Room and is also a lecturer in Drama Education at Edith Cowan University Perth. Elisa began her career as a drama practitioner in 1993 when she was one of the pioneers of the Act 3 International Drama Academy in Singapore. Since then she has trained in Acting at the Victorian College of the Arts and worked as a theatre maker and drama educator in Melbourne, London, Germany and Perth. She is currently completing her PhD in Drama in Education at Edith Cowan University.
